About
This project showcases the visual identity created for Mochari, the debut album by Berlin-based band Machukha. Their music blends post-black metal, dark hardcore, and punk into a visceral, emotionally charged soundscape. At its core, Mochari is an exploration of resilience. It is expressing survival, pain, and catharsis through raw energy and lyrical depth. The visual design mirrors these themes, translating the band’s intensity and cultural roots into striking, cohesive album artwork.
Scope of work
The scope of work encompassed the complete layout design for both vinyl and CD formats, including covers, labels, and disc surfaces. To visually echo the album’s central theme of resilience through suffering, the design employs a key color that imitates human skin tones, reflecting vulnerability and pain. The chosen typefaces underscore the fragility of the human mind and body, while the overall visual language carries a sense of mystery while mirroring the enigmatic and immersive world of Mochari.
